She saw the waterfall – the one they were supposed to see together
She felt the spray of water on her lips – the ones they were supposed to feel together
She whisked the drops away – the ones HE was supposed to whisk
She kissed the child standing beside her – the one HE was supposed to kiss.
But he was gone now
Down in the pit of earth
And as she bent her head
She felt she was of no worth!
The rumbling of the water, the noise
It was deafening, yet low
There were many people around
But his absence made her feel alone
As the lonely place further emptied
And the woman was left alone with her boy
She took him in her arms
And plunged to return to that guy! ย โค
Great poem! And I just noticed the picture you have on your blog above your “Being Me” and I think it’s just awesome! Did you draw that yourself?
